I enjoy going for walks here. The whole lane is bordered by Mayflower trees on both sides. When its spring and all the flowers start blooming the place gets filled with butterflies. It’s also a short cut to reach the nearest mall so I go through here all the time. The ones which I took photos of are not that big. They were planted just a couple of years ago. There are bigger ones on the other streets but couldn’t get a good photo of them.
This week’s photo challenge theme is Fresh.
Perfect timing for the theme. I clicked these photos a few days ago and was planning on posting them .
These are the leaves of a lily I have in my small garden. They remain fresh, green and beautiful like this for the whole year except for the two months when the flowers start blooming at which time all of the leaves fall out.
These are very common here in India. I’ve seen it everywhere but knew it only by the local name.
I found out yesterday about the English names. They seem to have three names Crape Jasmine, East Indian Rosebay and Pinwheel flower.
It doesn’t have a scent nor does it have any vibrant shades of color so they aren’t used for any decorative purposes.
I was really surprised that it was actually more useful than typical garden flowers because the plant is supposed to have medicinal properties.
Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable. -- Bruce Lee
