I enjoy going for walks here. The whole lane is bordered by Mayflower trees on both sides. When its spring and all the flowers start blooming the place gets filled with butterflies. It’s also a short cut to reach the nearest mall so I go through here all the time. The ones which I took photos of are not that big. They were planted just a couple of years ago. There are bigger ones on the other streets but couldn’t get a good photo of them.
This is another of my favorite bands. The Script is an Irish band from Dublin who released their first album in 2008.Most of their songs are about heartbreak and lost love but they don’t use sad music and use good beats instead. I like the lead singer’s voice and their lyrics.
The song below is my favorite from the band as of now. I love the lyrics and the music. It is from their first album. The music at the starting of the song used to be my ringtone. They released their third album last year and it looks just as good as the ones before.
Most of the time I prefer songs with great to moderately good lyrics but some time all I want is good music. Great beats, fun tune, in short music that you can just listen to feel good and maybe dance a little.
Two days ago I heard the song “Harlem” playing on AXN and loved the music instantly, the lyrics weren’t that bad either. New Politics is a rock band from Copenhagen, Denmark. Their music is mainly alternative rock, pop and punk.I have listened to some of their songs and I’ve mentioned some of the goods ones below.
Song: Somebody that I used to know(Cover) by Walk Off The Earth.
This band is more famous for their covers of songs by other artists. From what I’ve seen the best cover is of Gotye’s – “Somebody that I used to know” because not only is their vocals good but the whole band is also playing one single guitar simultaneously to create the background music.
They released an EP in 2012 and these are the best songs from it : “Red Hands”
and “Gang of Rhythm”.What I like about their songs is that they always have really good background music. Listen and enjoy.
The lyrics from the song It’s Time by Imagine Dragons is stuck in my head from a few weeks now probably because I’ll been replaying the same playlist again and again and this is one of the songs I like the most from the playlist.
The best part for me in the whole song is the following verses:
“I’m just the same as I was
Now don’t you understand
That I’m never changing who I am”
Okay,I know the band probably meant something a little different when they wrote the song but I like it because it’s the reply I like to give to everyone who keeps suggesting to change this and change that.
In middle school I was the shy kid who got bullied. In high school I had learned to stand up for myself but being the fat kid who was more or less a nerd, I didn’t really fit in with everyone. I’m still a nerd but I’m in better shape than before. Then there are the people who believe they are perfect and always keeps telling what I should do to get better. I don’t need there so-called advice, I like myself the way I am. I don’t reject everything people say outright, I do give it a thought to know whether I should consider what they said but most of the times it useless stuff. I have people who don’t mind the way I am and I’ve learned not to care about the others.
This post turned out to be a bit of a rant but I said what I had to say.
Written as a response to the Daily Prompt. (Write whatever you normally write about, and weave in a book quote, film quote, or song lyric that’s been sticking with you this week.)
Song: Another Day In Paradise by Phil Collins from the album “…But Seriously”(1989).
This is one of my dad’s all time favorite songs. I grew up listening to Phills Collins, Queen, Pink Floyd, etc. Dad used turn the the TV to an english music channel in the mornings and we used to listen to these artists and others everyday while we got ready for work or school (in mycase).
Daily Prompt for the day asks photographers to show something on the topic “OTHER”. I wont say I qualify as a photographer yet, but I do love taking photos and sharing them here so going along with that idea for the prompt.
Other than writing and photography, another field I have interest in is music.
When I turned 19 I went a little crazy and decided I have the patience and skill to learn to play an instrument. Though the one I love the most is violin I bought a guitar instead figuring I’ll start with that. My dad told me not to because I have a habit of starting things and then leaving them mid way.
I bought it anyway and had every intention of proving him wrong. I played on and off for a year, learned the basic chords but just like most other “projects” of mine I left it. Now I just pick it up once in a while but those occasions are becoming rarer and rarer. In the end, it looks like I just gave my dad a reason to say “I told you so” (which he loves to do!) and smirk whenever he sees the guitar.
Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable. -- Bruce Lee
